Situation One. Automatic software installation.
Suppose you need to reinstall Windows and a lot of applications together with it. Or a friend of yours, or your wife or your child asks you to install some useful software on his or her computer. And not even one program. Or you need to install a software suite for your colleagues or employees. All that means one thing - you will monotonously run the necessary installation packages, click Next, Yes, I agree in the same monotonous manner, enter the serial number, make mistakes in it, enter it again and so on and so forth. Not much of a fascinating job.
Meanwhile, statisticians estimated that the time people spend on fighting with installation packages may be up to 5 days a year! Don't you miss those 5 days? I'd miss them. I'd rather go to the beach instead of messing around with these installation files over and over.
But indeed, you can completely automate all those monotonous operations with the program called RoboSetup!
Your colleagues, friends, relatives can install all software they need with just one mouse click.
Just imagine that you can give them a CD or DVD with a nice autorun module and only one button - AUTOINSTALL ALL. After they click this button, all they have to do is sit back and watch how one installation package replaces the previous one, how all necessary buttons get clicked in an instant, how the serial number gets entered immediately and without any mistakes - all in all, how everything you would do gets done automatically.

Situation Two. Unattended installation
Using computer is impossible without installing the necessary software. For the quick installation you can use the so-called "disk images", i.e. the exact copies of the physical disks. In this case you just have to copy an image to one of your computers. Of course, all current data on the disk will be lost.
And what would you do if you need to install 3 or 4 new programs on each computer, without erasing the whole system? The second way is to burn all the distributives that you need to a CD then go from one PC to another and perform some routine actions such as clicking the "Next" and "Finish" buttons, Selecting the necessary check boxes in the dialogues. It’s not so hard to do if you need to install the software on 5 or less computers – so, you should have enough patience to perform the same actions on each computer. And what if you need to install 30 or 40 programs on 10, 20, 50 or more computers?! Imagine that you have to install these programs on a PC where the data mustn’t be erased. What would you do in this case?! In this article you will find the answers to these questions and will learn how to solve the problem of the unattended program installation!
To solve this problem we will use the special program which is called RoboSetup. The unique feature of this program is the full automation of the software installation process(unattended installation)! Using this program allows you to install the software package by clicking the "Autoinstall All" button instead of performing the numerous routine actions. When the "unattended program installation" is over, all the necessary programs will be installed as if you installed them manually, and the installation will take less time!
Notice that you will have the double advantage of time:
- First, it’s the program, not you, which installs the software. While it is being done you may have a snack or a coffee break.
- Secondly, the installation (the playback process) is much faster than the manual installation (if the "maximum speed" mode is set).
- Thirdly, the installation will be performed according to your plan because the program will never "forget" to install one or another program.
That’s the way the program works: at first you are to install the software manually, in other words, you should "teach" RoboSetup how to install this program. In this case you don’t have to write even a line of code! After that, if you want to install this program later, you just need to click the "Playback" button and RoboSetup will begin the installation and will repeat all your actions performed during the program installation recording!
Situation Three. You distribute software.
If you make software compilations and publish them on CDs, RoboSetup is for you!
Okay, you compile software collections. You may be an editor in a magazine and sell your magazine together with a software CD or you may create software collections on particular topics and sell them. Want your collection to have an advantage over other offers on the market?
Allow your users/buyers to automatically install software. Just imagine what interest it will arouse if the cover of your disk will read: All software from the disk is installed automatically! It will immediately attract attention to your disk as compared to other disks.
Of course, we must not take regular installation away from users, but what prevents you from placing the AutoInstall button next to the Install button in the autorun module? Let users try it and we are sure they'll like it. Let them feel how you care about them. You do not just leave them alone with installation packages, but guarantee that they will cope with installation because one mouse click is now enough to complete it.
At the same time, you can use either your own autorun module or the standard autorun module that comes together with RoboSetup. It has a nice interface and sound.
